My story
My musical journey started at the age of 13 when I picked up the guitar, hoping to emulate Kurt Cobain. Over the years, I immersed myself in various musical styles, honing my skills not only on the guitar but also on the piano and ukulele. My love for music led me to pursue a degree in Popular and Contemporary Music, where I delved deeper into music theory, composition, and performance.
Outside of teaching, I am an active participant in the local music scene, performing with bands and collaborating with fellow musicians. These experiences enrich my teaching by providing real-world insights and practical knowledge that I share with my students. Whether it's jamming with friends, composing new melodies, or exploring the intricacies of different genres, music is not just my profession but also my lifelong passion.

I have been teaching music privately for 12 years and have taught in primary schools, secondary schools, and further education colleges across the North East since 2019.
I hold a PGCE in Post-16+ Education and a BMus degree in Popular and Contemporary Music. These qualifications have equipped me with the skills and knowledge to effectively teach and inspire my students.
I believe that students should enjoy their lessons while making significant progress, fostering a lifelong passion for music.
Many of my students have achieved distinctions in their graded exams. Notably, one of my students was named Musician of the Year two years in a row
I offer private 1-1 lessons tailored to individual needs. Lessons can take place at the student's home for their convenience, and I also offer online tuition for those preferring remote learning.
